Dress Up Against AIDS: Condom Couture

Where Luxury Meets Bizarre

Dress Up Against AIDS: Condom Couture

Dress Up Against AIDS: Condom Couture

Brazilian artist Adriana Bertini, has designed fourteen garments for Dress Up Against AIDS, that are made entirely from condoms that were rejected by industry quality tests. She was inspired by HIV-positive children while volunteering for an AIDS prevention group. She has spent the last ten years creating these vibrant designs in hopes of conveying the message that condoms are a critical vehicle for the prevention of AIDS. Unfortunately the dresses are only meant to be worn during fashion shows, but if you’re in L.A. you can enjoy her recent collection at “Dress Up Against AIDS: Condom Couture,” an exhibition running now through March 11 at UCLA’s Fowler Museum.
